Some titles feel like you before you have even read them. The one Opale Art chose for my portrait is one of them: \u201cFragilit\u00e9s assum\u00e9es\u201d<\/strong> \u2013 embraced fragilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contemporary art magazine Opale Art<\/strong> devotes a double page to my work in the portfolio of its issue 05 \u2013 Winter 2026<\/strong>, alongside 18 artists. It opens with a full-page painting: Bulles de vie<\/em><\/a> (2025, 110 \u00d7 110 cm).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From one world to another<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The portrait begins where it all began: in science. With a doctorate in mathematical engineering, I spent years working with rigour, analysis and modelling. Opale Art shows how this training, far from opposing artistic creation, has become one of its foundations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then came the need to express myself through matter and gesture. I took up painting, then deepened my sculpture practice in La Borne and S\u00e8vres, where stoneware and porcelain became my favoured ground for exploring balance, tension and the relationship to space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A view \u201cfrom above\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The magazine puts words to the overhead view that runs through all my work: a step back that makes it possible to observe the individual within a larger whole, and to question the invisible dynamics that shape groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six questions, six windows<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The portrait continues with six questions. Here is a foretaste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

01 \u2013 If you had to present your art to a child<\/strong>
I chose the image of a curious bird flying over the world: \u201cI like to show that we are all part of one great landscape, like little seeds in an immense forest.\u201d A ball, a playground or a birthday party? It’s up to you to imagine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

02 \u2013 A decisive moment<\/strong>
No revelation, no thunderbolt, but \u201ca continuous thread\u201d: a patient conviction that still guides me today \u201clike an inner compass\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

03 \u2013 Only one work to keep<\/strong>
My first painting of a crowd seen from above, and this question: \u201cWhy does this view from the sky obsess you?\u201d Answering it made me understand the thread running through all my work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

04 \u2013 The superpower of my art<\/strong>
\u201cReawakening the sense of connection\u201d: a reminder that the balance between us, and with every form of life, is never a given.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

05 \u2013 Meeting a famous artist<\/strong>
Francis Bacon. An exhibition in Ireland brought together his paintings, films and a reconstruction of his studio. There I discovered this reversal: \u201cturning the flaw into a strength\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

06 \u2013 The question I would have asked myself<\/strong>
\u201cWhat makes you an artist?\u201d Coming from science, I long doubted my legitimacy, before understanding that this shift was precisely what made me unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
